If you've never tried pole, you're in the right place!
Our Intro to Pole class on Wednesdays at 7:05 pm is the perfect starting point for new beginners! We have a special Intro offer of 4 classes for £40 (to be used within 35 days) or you can try out a single class for £12 to see if pole is a good fit for you. If you opt for the single class and then decide you like it and want to carry on, you can still purchase the Intro offer for your next 3 classes! Please note that our classes are open to women and LGBTQ+ individuals.
In Intro to Pole, we teach you the basic skills you need to get started on your pole journey, including beginner spins, tricks, and dance. After a month or two of pole, you’ll likely find that you’re stronger than when you started, feeling more confident, and enjoying movement in a way you never have before!
How to get started
To join an Intro class, simply click the "Book Now" button to find our live calendar on TeamUp. Then navigate to Wednesday and click “Intro to Pole" to book. If you’d like to take advantage of our Intro offer, use this link or navigate to “Memberships” at the top of the TeamUp site, and then click on “Intro to Pole” under the “Beginners” section.
Additional classes that new beginners can try on a PAYG basis (£12/class) include:
-
Pole Dance Fundamentals: A beginner-friendly sexy style choreo class (Mondays)
-
Flexibility: All levels stretching class aimed at improving your flexibility and mobility and working toward goals such as splits and backbends (Tuesdays)
What do I wear/bring?
It helps to have skin grip when you pole dance, so we recommend wearing a sleeveless top and cycle or exercise shorts (with joggers or leggings over if it's cold out). We also ask that you avoid wearing lotion on your hands, arms, and legs before pole class because it makes you slippery! Please also bring socks and a water.
Am I too big, too old, or too weak to try this?
Absolutely not. Pole is for all bodies, regardless of size, age, or current abilities. When you start in our Intro class, you'll be surrounded by other new beginners who probably have similar feelings to you. These worries are common! But no matter how you feel about your body, your abilities, or your age, if you stick with pole, you're likely to see a positive transformation in how you feel about yourself.
One of the best parts about pole is that you get stronger while having fun and you tend to forget you're even exercising. It's very different from staring at the gym clock wondering when your workout will be over! You'll also start to feel more sexy and confident as you learn how to move your body in new ways and begin to appreciate the amazing things it can do. This transformation typically takes place around the 3 month mark of poling consistently.
More tips from our founder

Our ethos
At Spin & Flow we are a community and we love welcoming new students into our space. We know how nerve-wracking it can be to show up to your first class—we've all been there! But once you're here, we'll do our best to help you feel comfortable and enjoy your time here. Our vibe is friendly, authentic, and of course sexy (but don't let that scare you!). We want our students to feel comfortable and that means creating a space with warm lighting, friendly faces, and full acceptance of our bodies the way they are.
We're happy for you to try pole as a more fun way to get in shape, that's why we started too. But you may find that your reasons for coming evolve with time, as they did for us. We don't focus on our body size, calories, or losing weight—getting stronger is just an added benefit! We pole because we have so much fun doing it and because it brings out the best parts of ourselves (sometimes those parts society tells us to hide). We're here to feel strong, confident, and sexy and we love a woman-led space where we can forget about the outside world and just focus on ourselves!
Our classes are open to all women and LGBTQ+ individuals, age 18 and up.
